Falstaff's Theatre

All the world's a stage. As You Like It.

Stratford's hidden secret?

The plays will performing in the courtyard of this unique Tudor property - just as they would have in Shakespeare's time!

At that time, the building was a tavern ran by a man on whom Shakespeare based his famous FALSTAFF character.

Indeed Shakespeare would probably have visited here often as he is documented to have had close connections with the family and it therefore not unlikely he would have seen plays performed here himself.

For 2010 we have a new highly accomplished theatre company performing for us.

Elizabethan Theatre

Abridged Shakespeare plays in the atmospheric courtyard of this Tudor building by the Caramba Theatre Company. As in Shakespeare's time, you will be sitting outside on oak benches, close enough to feel at the very heart of the action, all against the backdrop of the 16th century half-timbered building with genuine Shakespeare connections!

The Plans for the Theatre

Our plans for a theatre, were revealed in great detail at our launch in February 2008 (pictures, sketches, plans and outlines were displayed for public scrutiny - see the picture on the right), attended by Councillors, SWATA, TMP, TIC and members of the business community. Madam Mayor Donna Barker was also in attendance and officially launched us when cutting the ribbon. Our plans have finally come to fruition and we will keep you updated as they develop.
